Possessing an outstanding voice that exudes both vibrant passion and pure feeling with elegance, poise and control, Clementine Douglas steps out into the limelight again to release her second solo single “Slippin”.

Shortly following her debut “Riddles” that was released in June and was supported by the likes of Jaguar for her BBC Introducing Dance Ibiza Special, Sian Eleri and Rickie, Melvin and Charlie on BBC Radio, Capital Xtra (playlist), The Line of Best Fit and more, this latest track speaks volumes on the talent of a young woman in her prime.

Lush with soft keys, bubbling brass and irresistible breakbeat elements, Clementine also merges soul and RnB to explore arrival fallacy. To celebrate the single, last week she also announced her debut headline live tour kicking off in her hometown of Birmingham on the 19th October, with further dates in Brighton (23rd), London (24th), Manchester (25th) and Glasgow (27th). Demand from fans was huge, and she sold it out within 1h.

Speaking on the track, she shares:

Sonically Slippin’ has elements of all the kinds of music I love the soul, breakbeat and rnb. It’s about what I recently discovered is called the ‘arrival fallacy’ that thing where you feel like you’ll be content when you achieve a certain thing or whatever and then you get there and it’s not it! This songs about the realisation of that and a mantra to myself to let go of expectations and enjoy the moment as it comes.

One of the UK dance scene’s most instantly recognisable vocal talents, Summer 2024 has been huge for Clementine Douglas. As well as her debut live show at BBC Radio 1 Ibiza and a further set at Boardmasters Festival, she’s also performed with Chase and Status at their sold-out Milton Keynes show to a raucous reception of ravers.

Her new music brings a subtle shift in her sound yet every bit as anthemic as her biggest moments and showcases where she’s heading: sweet soulful vocals and warm live instrumentation to give dance music a reinvigorating human touch.
